Xbox 360 Elite - Available May 5th, 2007
April 30, 2007

The time has come and the new Xbox Elite is making it’s way to stores across Canada starting on May 5th, 2007.
What are the features?
- HDMI capable
- 120GB Hdd (Compared to 20GB of the original)
- Support for 1080p through HDMI
- Up-converting DVD playback
- Matte Black finish
- 30 day Xbox Live Gold membership
- 1 Black Wireless controller
What is the price?
- $549.99 Canadian (Premium is $499.99 with a game)
If you are happy with your premium or basic console and do not feel the need to upgrade to the Elite/HDMI you may purchase the 120GB HDD for $209.99 Canadian. I think there has been a need for a larger HDD since the release of the Xbox 360 but until now you would either have to hack or follow some instructions that not every user could use.
However, I will not be buying the Elite or the HDD. I will be buying a Western Digital Scorpio 120GB HDD (The only one that works with “HDDHackr”) and use TheSpecialist’s instructions on how to create your very own upgraded HDD. You may think that you will be able to use a larger hard drive. In fact you can, but only 120GB will be available for use. The good thing about this route is that you are saving a ton of money and if MS releases a larger HDD most likely you will be able to upgrade again and you will still be saving money. At $209 it’s not worth it IMO. A 120GB hdd goes for around $80-$100 so I cannot justify giving Microsoft more of my money. After all I just spent $350 for Vista Ultimate.
